The doubles payout will depend on how many teams sign up and play, it is percentage based.

The skills challenge will consist of the following stations:

1. Holes only board (regulation board and only holes are considered points) (8 bags per station) (holes score 3 points each and each bag removed after each throw)

2. Airmail board (12" X 12" board with standard hole in center) (8 bags per station) (holes score 5 points per airmail and non-scoring bags are removed)

Highest total score wins tournament

Fees will be:

Team Event - $50 per team

Skills Challenge -$20 per person

Single Event - $30 per person ( this tournament was just added, back by popular demand, and will be single elimination)

All events payouts are percentge based and will be made more available once the link is up on the website for pre-registration.

Hope this helps and there will be more to follow.

What is the percentage on the payouts? Please don't answer "depends on the amount of entries', for you must have a set profit.

Yeah....most tournaments say 80% pay back or something like that.

We are in negotiations with the "host venue" to determine our up front cost for rentals, etc. So as of right now, my only response can be, To Be Determined.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused thus far, but it will be made available very soon.

By The Way, My website is up and running now, I built it today and have it operational.

http://www.buckeyecornhole.net

Please check it out

Registration to the tournament will be done through the website "contact us" form and a paypal invoice will be sent out for payment for said registration.

Hope to see everyone at the tourney

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE:

The payout structure for all three of the events will be 40% of all registration dollars in each event. Paid out at the schedule for each of the 3 top finishers positions. All of this is listed online at http://www.buckeyecornhole.net as well.

Check out the website for information or feel free to contact me at 614-327-0626 for additional information.

I hope to see you there.

The Doubles Tournament will max-out at 100 teams, so get in early, cause the registrations will go fast. I have already had over 100 hits on my website and it's only been in operation for 24 hours, so get registered early.

I agree with neener. Major ripoff, you wont have 12 teams, unless your family is big

100 teams? We have had tournaments with 100% payout and only had 12 teams? Do not think 40% will draw to many teams..and $30.00 for singles-one and done-no thanks.

I have to agree with everyone here Buckeye! You will not get the crowd you hope to get by paying out only 40% of the entries. I have never heard of that before! I have ran tournaments for groups that pay at least 50% of the entries. My personal tournaments are 80% payouts.

Another thing....I was reading your CORNHOLE RULES. Why on earth are you setting the boards up at 24ft apart? All tournaments and even in your backyard should be set up at 27ft. 24ft is for little kids or people that just don't know how to play.

My 14 year old son can throw it 27ft.

27ft seperates the boys from the men. 24ft is to easy.

Don't take anything we say the wrong way! It's all to help you and your business grow. I have been to tournaments from here to Evansville, IN and never, ever thrown from 24ft. The only time I threw from 24ft was when I got my first set of boards and the hardware store I bought them from told me to set them up 24ft apart. Then I started reading up on the game online and saw where its suppose to be 27ft apart.

Anyway...good luck at you tournament!

As far as the distance goes, this was designed due to the size of the buiding (indoor tournament). I understand that it is a variation from the "norm", but due to size restrictions inside of the American Legion Hall I may have to keep it at the distance that I have posted, which is only 3 feet shorter than the average. If I am able, once the set-up starts, then I will increase the distance so that it will be more to the norm.

And as for the payout....I have looked at tournaments across the country and the payouts have averaged right at 50% and this is with them having sponsors to provide them with their additional monies for payouts. Me being the "new kid" on the block, I don't have the sponsors YET. I held a tournament on the east coast back in December and had a decent turn-out for being in an area that really didn't know what cornhole is.

I appreciate the "constructive critism", it can only help my tournaments in the future.

My only concern with starting a cornhole tournament company is increasing the amount of people playing the game, so that in the future it can become an Olympic Sport!!!

So with the Singles Tournament, the reason that I chose to do a Single Emlimination tournament was that seemed to be the normal for that type of tournament, it's not "one and done" like you said slater, it is best of 3, but Sinlge Elimination. If I have enough of a response for having it as a Double Elimination tournament then it will change to that, this tournament is for the players, period.

Thank You,

Last tournament that we had, the "venue" was a bar that was begging for customers. The owner refused any payment, claiming that it was illegal??? He sold so much booze that day, that he is begging us to have another one.

The venue should be somewhere that wants patrons to come in and spend money, not somewhere looking to rent for family reunions.

I hope that the Legion can hold that 200 people there for the doubles. May have to cut the distance down to 14 feet to accomodate that massive crowd.

With that low of a payout, don't look for many out of towners.

Nice website.

Ryan69 thank you for the compliment on the website, I truly appreciate it.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE!!!!!!!

The distance is now increased to "standard" distance of 33' hole - hole as opposed to 30' as advertised.

There is now a guaranteed minimum payout for 1st place in the doubles tournament..........$500.00

This is a minimum payout, no matter of the amount of teams, but the payout will be huge if we max-out the teams. Just a reminder everyone, if we have 100 teams (which is the building max), then the 1st Place payout for the doubles tournament will be $1000.00

There will also be door prizes available, which I can't post yet until I have everything acquired for that.

Thank you to all that have posted their comments / concerns, for this is the only way that I am able to ensure that the tournament will be a success.
