My introduction(Milky420)

Postby Milky on Wed Feb 25, 2009 4:12 pm

I guess I'll start this thing off. My name is Mark. Everybody calls me Milky. It's been my nickname for my entire life. I live right outside of Philadelphia. I'm 32. I'm engaged to be married in October of this year. I have a Son from a prior marriage. He's four. My hobbies include playing Cornhole, playing guitar, drinking beer, and I'm a little bit of a computer geek.

I discovered Cornhole by sheer luck, while looking for a fun activity to bring to a party last Summer. I've been hooked ever since. I now build boards, have a website, sell about two sets per week, and run local tournaments. I am looking forward to this Spring and Summer so I can help Cornhole blow up in the Philly area! I'm completely addicted to everything Cornhole related.

Mitch:
The only reason I haven't shared my website so far in this forum is because it's kinda ghetto. You guys all have really nice websites and do big business and beautiful work, and I've only been in this world for a little over 6 months now. I don't know exactly where this Cornhole business thing is going to lead me, so I didn't want to drop any kind of money on it. It's basically just an address I could give to people so they could see that I was serious enough about building them a set of boards. People see my boards, see us playing, or run across a tournament I hold locally, then start asking questions. I tell them I can build them anything they envision. Then they leave and never think about it. Every guy I know spends at least 1/2 hour on the internet every day, so I wanted to be able to give them something to look at when they got home. Any person like you with a real website and hundreds of pictures of boards will surely think that I have the saddest excuse for a website, ever. I will say that it has sold me 9 sets of boards so far, so I guess it's working. 2 of those sets were from a wife and girlfriend who found my business card while doing the laundry, then contacted me to build a set as a surprise for their man. It works for now. That being said, here's the site. Don't be too rough on me.

The only problem that I see with the site is that the main page says "for all your cornhole needs". It should, at this time , say for all your cornhole boards. :P

I don't see anything wrong with it. It's direct and to the point with buttons to what people want to know. I hate sites where you have to scroll down for what seems like forever to find what you're looking for.

As long as your site is selling your boards, it's working well enough! Right? :D

I'd be glad to add a link to the links page, if you want. Just shoot me a PM!

Thanks, guys. I also got some positive feedback from another forum member here. I guess it's not as bad as I thought it was.....

In case people haven't noticed, I just wanted to point out that Milky is now a moderator!

I've asked Milky to help me out with the day to day moderation of the forum. It's a huge help to me, and I'm glad that he's agreed to do it!

Thanks Milky!

I just noticed his name was in green now and was curious as to why. Congratulations Milky!

I'd like to be a moderator too but Milky sure knows his stuff a whole lot better than me!

Some day I'll grow up to be a moderator too! :)

Yeah....this is my favorite web site as well. I check this site out several times a day and at work. Matter of fact...I'm at work right now!

It would be an honor to be a moderator here!
