Forgot to ask in previous msg... How long do you wait before applying the coats of paint and peeling up the tape? Thanks!

I got my contact paper at Walmart in the kitchen section. I think that you guys could get some good ideas for painting from here http://www.airbrush.com/tips-and-tricks.aspx There are a few who paint cornhole boards.

One other option is to make sure the painters tape is stuck on the board good. I run a hard edge over it a few times, like the edge of a credit card. I rarely have bleeding, if you take the time and make sure the tape is firmly on the board.

Art - how did you do the stencil????? Do you have a file or a template? I am a Cubs fan (as is my Dad) and I want to do a set of boards for both my house and his. I'd like to paint the logo over stained or white boxes (boxes built and sanding sealed---sanding tomorrow)

Thanks!

With no reply from Art yet, I found a Cubs logo and am going to trace it to contact paper then place that and cut out the right sections to paint the logo onto my white boards.

Success....Shaggy method; traced the log onto clear contact paper; placed it and cut out the logo with an razor blade. Did not carry the stripes down the side because I was not sure I could cover the joint, but now I may add them.

Those look really good. Nice work.
I was a technical adviser for "Cornhole the Movie". You won't find my name in the credits or on IMDB though. It was all hush hush and pro Bono work ya know; Sonny Bono I believe

Hello; new to the board. I just had to give my thanks for the method and thread. It helped me tremendously. I am impressed with how crisp the lines came out.

Now say i wanted to do that exactly thing, but with an indians logo (pretty much the same colors).. now would i paint the whole board blue, then tape off the logo and stripes, adn then paint the white on? i got kinda confused about what colors to paint on first and whatever.

j- You can do the blue first if you like. Just when you apply the colors of the logo etc it will take mutiple coats to cover and look right. I've done a Tribe board to look like a jersey and did it this way. Some others may have a better way for you to try. Hope this helps. Post some pics, would like to see how they turn out.

I did these using Shaggy's Method, of course it was before I logged into these forums, so to me it was called "Troy's Method" 8)

It came out great, but I will say, pull the tape off earlier than later if you have to lean one way. Also, don't force the drying. You will peel up what you just worked on.
