Help! my bags are coming apart at the seams!

Postby swoosh on Wed Jul 15, 2009 10:15 am

Does anyone have any pointers on sewing corn hole bags? I borrowed a sewing machine to sew some bags. I made some bags and the looked good, but, after throwing them for awhile the material starts to come unwoven at the seams. I made some with a strait stitch and double stitched some. I don't know if I'm sewing to close to the edge of the fabric or what. Does anyone have any suggestions?

We apply glue, and then do the double stitch all the way around the bag only leaving enough room to fill with corn. Then double stitch and glue what is left, and have had no problems with bags breaking open. Also important not to overfill the bags.

We use Aleene's No Sew Fabric Glue found at Jo Ann's Fabric Store.
